Air Tanzania welcomes new bombardier plane to its fleet

Air Tanzania is welcoming the fleet’s new Bombardier Q-400 to Julius Nyere International Airport (JNIA), in Addis Ababa today.

The 79-seater plane will be the third purchased by the government since President John Magufuli made a passionate call to revive the state-owned carrier.

Upon arrival, the plane will be greeted by “Water Canon Salutation”. President Magufuli will also take part in the official inauguration of the plane.

The government has bought the plane for $32 million from Canada’s Bombardier Aerospace.

Three more jet aircrafts, including two Bombardier C300s and one Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, will also arrive in the country this year – as Air Tanzania looks to modernise its fleet.
