U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday said a delegation from the DPRK was expected to deliver him a letter from their leader Kim Jon-un on Friday.
The DPRK officials meeting with Trump will be the latest effort by the two countries as they try to revive a historic Summit that will see Trump meet Kim, the first time U.S. and DPRK presidents will meet since the Korean War of the 1950s.
Trump told reporters he was not sure the latest efforts would be enough to strike a deal to hold the summit which would take place in Singapore.
Earlier this month, President Trump said he would Kim Jong-un on 12 June.
That meeting was however cancelled by both sides later, due to unexplained differences.
Through a Twitter post however, Trump on Thursday said there had been “Very good meetings with North Korea.”

His comments came minutes after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo formally began talks with a senior North Korean official Kim Yong Chol in New York, to potentially salvage the summit meeting, which both sides hope will end decades of enmity and suspicion.
Pompeo said the summit “presents DPRK with a great opportunity to achieve security and economic prosperity.”
