Egyptian FA optimistic Mohamed Salah will be fit for World Cup
The Egyptian football association has expressed optimism that star player Mohamed will be available for World Cup selection despite sustaining an injury in the Champions League final on Saturday.
Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 to lift a third consecutive title and the 13th overall, but the game’s talking point was the Egyptian’s injury that forced him off in the half hour mark.
Salah landed awkwardly under a challenge from Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, and had to be replaced by Adam Lallana for the rest of the game.
The Egyptian FA has since sent out information saying that Salah could recover well in time for the World Cup.
“Dr. Mohammed Abu Ola, an elected physician, reported that the Liverpool Medical Service had informed him after conducting a radiation on the shoulder of Salah and the result was that the player was alarmed at the shoulder bands. He added that according to this diagnosis he was optimistic that Salah would be attached to the national team in the World Cup,” a translated version of a Tweet sent out by the authority reads.
