British boxer Anthony Joshua beat Joseph Parker on points to unify the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday.

Joshua, who was born to Nigerian parents, gave a controlled performance to defeat Parker, the New Zealand-born fighter.

The WBO title always looked like it would end up with Joshua. The 28-year-old landed a hard left uppercut in round 8 and two tough left hooks early in the 10th.

Parker became Joshua’s first opponent to take him to the scorecards, which read 118-110 118-110 119-109.
