Emirates crew staff falls off the plane at Entebbe Airport in Uganda
An Emirates Airlines crew member seriously injured herself when she opened the emergency exit door of an aircraft and jumped out.
The Emirates flight – EK 730, which was due to depart Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday had just delivered passengers to Entebbe and was preparing to load other passengers for Dubai when the incident happened, local online website the Daily Monitor said.
The employee was immediately evacuated and taken to hospital for treatment.
The exact cause of the incident was not yet clear but some eye witnesses cited possible suicide. She was seen holding what looked like a glass bottle under her chin before she made the fall, the report said.
Some of the other witnesses said that they had seen her in verbal exchange with colleagues.
According to an eye witness, her knees were shattered and body cut with broken glass from a bottle she jumped out with.
