CHAN 2018: Morocco storms into semi-finals after beating Namibia
The 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) host Morocco has qualified for the semi-final stage of the competition after seeing off Namibia in the first quarter final game played in Casablanca.
The Lions of the Atlas beat the southern African side by 2-0 to get a step closer to the coveted CHAN trophy.
The North African side is hoping to ride on home advantage all the way to the finals scheduled to be played on 4 February.
Morocco is appearing in the continental competition reserved for local-based footballers for the third time consecutively.
The country first participated in the competition in 2014 and was eliminated in the quarter final stage, but could not repeat the same feat in the 2016 edition when it was eliminated in the group stage.
Morocco will now face the winner from the Congo vs Libya game set to be played later today.
The other quarter final games will be played on Sunday, with Zambia facing Sudan as Nigeria battles Angola.
