Many parts of Kenya and Uganda are currently plunged in darkness as power distributors in the two countries investigate the cause of the outage.
In Nairobi, power went off at around 1600 GMT around the same time Kampala reported the same fate.
We are aware of the wide area outage affecting many areas. Our teams are currently working with @uetcl to establish the cause, resolve it and restore supply ASAP.
