Eight Rwandans nominated for Africa Youth Awards 2017
Eight Rwandans are among nominees from twenty five countries shortlisted for this year’s Africa Youth Awards, the continent’s most coveted awards for young achievers and change makers local online website, the New Times reports.
141 individual nominees and 17 organisations are vying for the top positions. Nominees were announced by the Africa Youth Awards on December 4 and are set to be publicly announced on January 1, next year.
Countries with the most nominations are Ghana (26), Nigeria (18), Tanzania (14), South Africa (13), Cameroon (9) and Rwanda (8).
The Africa Youth Awards is a forum that recognises the works of young African achievers and change makers who have selflessly dedicated their lives to the realisation of a more optimistic future.
According to Terser Adamu, COO of Africa Youth Awards, this year’s nominees demonstrate the army of young people who have taken the destiny of the continent into their own hands for positive results.
