World leaders condole with Egypt following deadly mosque attack
World leaders have sent their condolence messages to the families of the victims of the deadly attack on a mosque in Egypt.
At least 184 people were killed in the Friday attack on the al-Rawda mosque in the northern Sinai region, with more than 125 others injured.
Gunmen in four off-road vehicles are reported to have opened fire at worshippers after the blast.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack so far.
Egypt has for years been battling an armed movement in the rugged and thinly populated Sinai Peninsula, which gained pace since the 2013 military ouster of the then president Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Here are some reactions from leaders around the world;
Horrible and cowardly terrorist attack on innocent and defenseless worshipers in Egypt. The world cannot tolerate terrorism, we must defeat them militarily and discredit the extremist ideology that forms the basis of their existence!
