The Kenyan Government has donated an assortment of medical supplies to the Federal Government of Somalia to help treat victims of the recent bomb attack in Mogadishu.
Kenyan Ambassador to Somalia, Retired Maj.Gen. Luca Tumbo handed over the medical supplies to Somalia Minister of Health and Social Services, Fawziya Abikar. Also present to receive the consignment was the Mayor of Mogadishu, Thabit Abdi Mohamed, Relief Web reports.
Ambassador Tumbo condemned the attack, adding that Kenya will continue standing by Somalia in times of sorrow and happiness.
“We have brought 11 tonnes of assorted medicines. I am also ready to take 26 patients with me to be admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital. And those patients who have suffered spinal injuries, we’ll take them to the National Spinal Injury Hospital in Nairobi. We pray that God grants the necessary fortitude for all to endure the great loss,” Ambassador Tumbo said.

Tumbo said that Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta had spoken with President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and delivered a message of condolence on behalf of the people of Kenya
Ambassador Tumbo said that those accountable would be brought to book while expressing condolences to the families bereaved on behalf of Kenya and its people.
Dr. Fawziya hailed the Government of Kenya and the leaders for the support, stating that the country’s president was one of the first leaders to send condolences.
Kenya is airlifting the injured to Nairobi for specialized treatment.

The October twin blast has left more than 300 people dead and several others injured.
