Usain St Leo Bolt made a debut into world athletics in 2007 and after building a legacy in 200m and 100m races, he has decided to bid the farewell to the race world 10 years later.
Bolt finished in third-place in the 100m final Saturday at the IAAF World Championships in London, the only bronze medal in all his 100m races which he always gets the medal.
The world’s fastest man ever exited the stage limping and grimacing after he pulled up injured on the anchor leg of the 4x100m relay at the World Championships on Sunday morning.
The Jamaican sprinter is the reigning Olympic champion in the 100 metres and 200 metres world records plus as a part of the 4 × 100 metres relay.
30 year old Bolt is an eight-time Olympic gold medalist and an eleven-time World Champion. He is the only sprinter to win Olympic 100 m and 200 m titles at three consecutive olympics (2008, 2012 and 2016), a feat referred to as the “triple double.”
