The U.S. President, Donald Trump, and his daughter, Ivanka, recently met with two Chibok girls at the White House.
Joy Bishara, 20 and Lydia Pogu, 19 were among 57 girls who escaped from Boko Haram in Borno by jumping off the back of a truck in 2014.
A photo confirming the meeting between Trump and the two girls was chosen as the White House’s ‘Photo of the Day’ for Wednesday June 28, 2017.

The two relocated to the United States in August 2014 with the help of Jubilee Campaign
Local media portal, The Cable, reports that Joy and Lydia graduated from Canyonville Christian Academy in Oregon in February this year and are trying to raise funds to further their education. They are being supported by Jubilee Campaign, a human rights group in Virginia, africanews reports.
Majority of the girls have since been freed by the terror group in prisoner swaps with the Nigerian government, although dozens still remain with the Boko Haram.
More than 270 girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram from their secondary school in Chibok on April 2014.
Much of the world learned of the Boko Haram terrorist group after they kidnapped more than 270 Chibok girls, leading to a global outrage with a campaign hashtag of #bringbackourgirls calling for rescue of the girls.
Boko Haram has been targeting girls and women to carry out their attacks majorly in the northeastern of Nigeria.
