Students explore employment opportunities in China-Tanzania job fair
The second annual China-Tanzania job fair officially opened at the University of Dar es Salaam, organized by the Chinese Business Chamber, the Confucius Institute and the Tanzania-China Council for Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification.
Over 100 Chinese companies took part with local students coming from all over the country seeking to secure opportunities.
This event is linked to proposals by the Chinese Embassy and Tanzanian Education Department to establish a vocational institute and university.
It is hoped this will provide professional training to the youth and prepare Tanzania for industrialization.
According to a report from Tanzania’s Investment Centre, China is now Tanzania’s largest trading partner.
This relationship is credited with direct investment of over 7 billion USD, over 1,000 registered businesses and the creation of over 200,000 jobs.
