The DRC has approved the use of the new Ebola vaccine to counter the recent outbreak in the country’s north-east. At least four people have died and another 52 suspected infections have been reported.

The vaccine hasn’t been licensed yet, but was shown to be highly effective in protecting against Ebola in clinical trials.

The details of the vaccination campaign are to be announced after DRC health ministry officials meet pharmaceutical partners and the W.H.O. later this week.
