A radio station for single mothers launched in Morocco
100% Mamans association in Morocco has launched a community radio station called ‘Meresenligne’ –Mothers online- for single mothers, reports Morocco World News.
The association promotes the rights of single mothers and children, and in partnership with an Italian organization as part of the strategy of the European Union’s support program for the governmental plan for equality between men and women 2012-2016.
The radio station provides an opportunity for single mothers to raise awareness of their exclusion from the society and integrate them with the general public.
“The radio project was a dream that we are now able make come true. This is a new step for us to help single mothers better defend themselves and claim their rights, be it as women or as single mothers,” said Coordinator of the association, Rhimou Hajoub, during the conference to launch the radio.
