Egypt’s armed forces have delivered food and medical supplies to Somalia today following an order from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reports Al Ahram.

The army’s C-130 military transport delivered the supplies meant to offer relief to those affected by drought. More than half of Somalia’s population, at least 6.2 million, is suffering from severe hunger due to extreme drought.

According to Save the Children, increasing numbers of children in the East African nation are suffering from life threatening malnutrition.
