
Egyptian President Sisi to meet King Salman Bin Abdel
It seems that the Arab Summit held in Amman last month has had its share in improving ties between Egyptian President EL Sisi and King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz.
The two leaders held a one-on-one meeting back then, which signaled a slight improvement in relations. The Saudi King then Invited President el Sisi for a state visit.
Terrorism will be leading their agenda, as the two countries try to coordinate their fight against ISIL and other militant groups that have been active in the Middle East. Cooperation in Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen will also be investigated.
Both Egypt and Saudi Arabia have been leading global efforts to revive the Palestinian peace talks.
Through the Arab League they’ve renewed calls for full normalization of ties with Israel once peace is reached.
With Cairo having good ties with Moscow and Riyadh with Washington their coordination is essential to work on resolving regional conflicts.
Although it has not been officially announced, the two leaders are expected to discuss their Red Sea water border agreement. The Egyptian government and the Saudi kingdom both insist that Tiran and Sanafir islands belong to Saudi Arabia, while politicians have stood against the hand over, supported with judicial verdicts.
