At least 36 ISIL militants were killed by the US military’s largest non-nuclear bomb on Thursday evening in eastern Nangarhar province, the Afghan Defense Ministry said on Friday morning.
According to Afghan officials, the US bomb decimated a deep tunnel complex ISIL was using.
“As a result of the bombing, key Daesh (ISIL) hideouts and deep tunnel complex were destroyed and 36 ISIL fighters were killed,” the defense ministry said.
