Barely two days after helping Crystal Palace beat trophy-chasing Chelsea in the English Premier League, reports suggest that Cote d’Ivoire midfielder Wilfried Zaha is in line to be offered a new improved contract by the Eagles.

British media report that the 24-year-old has impressed chairman Steve Parish, who is now planning to hold contract talks with him once the club secure Premier League survival.

The Ivorian signed a five-and-a-half year deal with Crystal Palace when he joined from Manchester United in February 2015.

Zaha already has six goals and seven assists for the Eagles in the PL this season.,

He scored one and assisted another as Palace beat title-favourites Chelsea on Saturday. The win means Palace now lie 16th on the PL table, with 31 points, though that puts them just foru points above the relegation zone.

“We would love to keep Wilfried,” BBC reports Parish to say. “We will talk to him as soon as we’re safe.”

According to the player’s agent, he was the subject of a £15 bid from Tottenham in last summer’s transfer window.

Zaha switched international allegiance from England to Ivory Coast last year and played in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
