After decades of decline in Senegal’s once trail blazing film industry most of the country’s main cinemas remain closed today.

Back in the 60s Senegal had a thriving film industry and cinemas served as the main venue for watching films, but people watch more movies at home today.

Film makers are now pushing for cinema halls to be reopened to help revive the ailing industry.
