President Buhari chairs first cabinet meeting since returning to Nigeria
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday chaired his first cabinet meeting since coming back from medical leave last week.
The president had travelled to the U.K. for medical treatment, where he spent seven weeks.
The sickness that he sought treatment for has however not been revealed.
Since returning to Nigeria on Friday, the president has had no public appearances outside the presidential villa.
Buhari called for two ministers for Christian and Muslim prayers before the national anthem was played at the start of the closed-door meeting, the usual practice before reporters were asked to leave the room.
Upon his return from London, Buhari thanked Nigerians for praying for his health, and urged them to join hands in developing the West African nation.
The president seems to be in a jovial mood before the meeting begun, signs that he is fast getting back to full health.
Last week, we however noted that he may have to travel again soon for check-ups.
