The group predicted India would overtake Indonesia to become the world’s largest Islamic nation by 2050

Muslims have more children than members of other religious groups.  Muslims have 3.1 children per woman while Christian’s average is 2.7 children.

A growing European Muslim population is also expected to account for a significant proportion of the increase. Ten per cent of Europeans will be practising Islam by 2070, up from the current six per cent.
