South Africa treating Acid Mine water to secure water for 30 years

South Africa’s Water and Sanitation Department has launched the Acid Mine Drainage Treatment Plant.

The plant, which is the largest of its kind in the world, pumps approximately 110 mega litres of water per day. South Africa is a water scarce country and the government is trying to mitigate against the pollution of underground water sources.
