Famous American actor, producer, and director, Forest Steven Whitaker III is in Uganda to champion peace and development initiatives through young people
The UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace and Reconciliation had addressed the media briefly at the UN head offices in Kampala before he set out for Northern Uganda.
Whitaker, who is also a member of the United Nations(UN) Sustainable Development Goals Advocacy Group, is in Uganda to check up on his ‘Harmonize’ programme that is being implemented in northern Uganda.
Harmonize’ programme currently operates in 30 communities helping train young people in conflict resolution, leadership, peace and community building as well as mediation skills to promote inner healing, according to the New Vision.
