Juba calm for first time in years due to seizing of illegal firearms

There’s relative calm in the South Sudanese capital for the first time since violence broke out in December 2013.

It is all thanks to an initiative dubbed “Operation Secure Juba”. The project was launched last month by South Sudan’s joint armed forces. One of its tasks is to collect unauthorised firearms.
