Kenyans take to social media to pledge for peaceful elections this year

Kenyans pledge for peace in the general elections on 8th August 2017 where citizens will vote in a President and his deputy, members of parliament that includes the senate and the national assembly and and the devolved government members, that includes the county governors and ward representatives.

Kenya’s Independent Electorate and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has already begun a mass voter registration aiming to register at least new six million voters with the hope of registering at least a 22 million voters for the national polls.

With Kenyan politics known for their ethnicity twist where the biggest tribes align to vote in their candidate, there is tension due to the 2007 post- election violence along tribal lines.
