
Tanzania President Magufuli discourages issuing of relief food
The government of Tanzania will not be releasing food aid to people facing famine in the country, but encourages the people to work harder to earn enough money to buy food according to Tanzanian President Magufuli, reports the Citizen
“The government will not release relief food to anyone even those who are facing hunger; my focus is on improving social services and create better environment for industrialisations; let truth be told,” said the President during the launching ceremony of 71.8km Ramadi-Bariadi road in north west Tanzania
Magufuli reassured Tanzanians that there is sufficient food at the National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA) warehouses and thwarted media reports that suggesting that the East African country is facing hunger as “cheap politics”.
The media reports have encourage some businesspeople to import at least 25,000 tonnes of maize from Brazil.
