Gambia’s Bar Association — which represents all the country’s lawyers — is calling on President Jammeh to respect the election results.

In a statement, the association notes there is no legitimate legal mechanism available in the country to hear and determine the election petition Jammeh has filed.

The bar has also asked its members and judiciary staff to boycott the courts until Jammeh concedes power.
