Angola’s Defence minister set to lead ruling party after Dos Santos’ exit

Angola’s defence minister Joao Lourenco has been nominated to take over the leadership of the ruling MPLA party from President Jose Eduardo dos Santos.

That’s according to state-owned broadcaster Radio Nacional de Angola. He’ll be the official candidate when Angola holds its elections in 2017.
