Soweto residents have opened up their homes for a unique entrepreneurship festival.

The idea is to choose a street in Soweto and have community members open up their homes to local entrepreneurs. It’s called Makhelwane. Makhelwane is a Zulu term that refers to one’s neighbor. The Festival is hosted by the country’s tourism department as part of the drive to grow the visitor economy in the townships.
