Somalia’s Presidential elections have been postponed for a third time

Somalia’s presidential elections scheduled for 30 November have been postponed for a third time.

The head of Somalia’s electoral body; Omar Mohamed Abdulle said the vote due Wednesday have been pushed back, but no new dates were given but Abdulle stated that a new President will be elected before the end of this year.

Somalia’s parliament members will elect the new president. However, parliamentary elections have not been completed and the voting was marred by irregularities and corruption.

The electoral body is investigating allegations of election malpractice.

Among the presidential candidates are the incumbent President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Fadumo Dayib, one of the two females to ever run for president in Somalia
