Media association calls for reopening of station shut down by government in South Sudan

Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS0 has called for the reopening of Eye Radio station that was shut down by government authorities in the National Security Service without reason.

“The act of closing media houses by the national security is unacceptable and a violation of the media laws and a denial of the constitutional rights of freedom of expression and of the press,” AMDISS Chairman Alfred Taban said in a statement.

The statement further said that AMDISS strongly condemns the closure and calls on the security to re-open the radio immediately and unconditionally and use dialogue to amicably resolve any issue that might have led to the shutdown of the radio.
