
Ethiopia to reveal details of those arrested during the state of emergency
In a month’s time, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Defence will reveal the details of the people arrested in the last one month and reasons for their arrest, as part of its state of emergency Inquiry Board work report Africa News.
“The Inquiry Board is expected to reveal within one month the names of all individuals arrested on account of the state of emergency together with the reasons for their arrest,” the state affiliated FANA broadcasting corporate reported on Friday.
Ministry of Defence established the Inquiry Board to handle issues pertaining to conditions of suspects detained under the state of emergency.
Ethiopia declared a 6-month state of emergency on October 9 after rampant anti-government protests in Oromo and Amhara regions of the East African country.
