Cairo bookshop allows clients to scream their troubles away

Read < 1 minute

To cope with the daily stresses life can bring, young Egyptians have turned to the “scream room” to relieve their frustrations.

The soundproof room is located inside a bookshop west of the capital Cairo and comes equipped with a drum set, allowing visitors to bang their worries away.

Those who have tried it claims its works wonders on their mind.

“When you enter the room it’s like you’ve entered a whole other world, without your phone and without anything else that can have an effect on you,” said one user, Ahmed Sharaf.

Owner AbdelRahman Saad offers each visitor ten minutes inside the private scream room, free of charge. He believes it is the first room of its kind in the Middle East.
