Costs on calls and internet use in South Sudan shoot up by 700 percent

Telecommunication companies in South Sudan have increased the prices on phone calls and data usage by up to 700 percent.

Many residents are now unable to afford the services. The firms maintain that the increases have been prompted by rising inflation in the world’s youngest nation.
