Ghana’s Black Stars will be chasing a fifth title in the competition and a tough test awaits them in the group phase.
They open their campaign against Uganda a team which last competed in 1978 when they lost to Ghana in the final. Former champions Egypt are also in the group with perennial top four finishers Mali expected to pose a challenge.
