The week-long International Comic Strip Festival of Algiers has kicked off.
Comics from at least 40 countries are taking part. For the first time, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Italian comic strip. The festival is a platform to showcase new talent. The events are spread over five days and include exhibitions from nine Algerian publishing houses.
There are also scheduled activities and entertainment in public schools and hospitals across Algiers.
