South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma has instructed the country’s his justice and crime prevention ministries to address the violence that has hit the country in the student protests over fee increments.

The University students want the government to rescind a decision to impose fee increments in 2017.

At least six universities’ classes have been disrupted with some even suspended.

The country’s police and private security agencies have tried to quell the students unrest with little success.

“President Jacob Zuma has instructed the justice crime prevention and security cluster to deal with the mayhem that is destroying our institutions of higher learning,” Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe said.
