Read < 1 minute

Sartuday 17th of September marked the international coastal clean up day.

A day ocean conservationists and volunteers across the globe take to the beaches in a bid to rid the oceans of piled up garbage. Well hundreds of Tanzanians and expatriate volunteers also joined the international coastal clean up effort. In Dar es Salaam, they even went as far as to throw a clean-up party, with jazz and yoga on offer for litter pickers.

But as Dan Ashby reports, it’s all part of a wider movement to make the country cleaner.
