The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has launched a door-to-door campaign in the Democratic Republic of Congo, aimed at promoting child education in the country.

The campaign was launched one week after the reopening of schools for the 2016-2017 academic year.

It is hoping to identify children who do not attent school and come up with social protection measures to enrol and keep them in school.

The agency targets about two million vulnerable children who will be provided with all necessary resources to remain in school.

UNICEF representative in DR Congo, Pascal Villeneuve, urged all actors in DR Congo’s education sector to get involved and support the agency’s door-to-door campaign for child education.
