
China, U.S .Presidents meet ahead of G20 summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with his US counterpart Barack Obama in Hangzhou. President Xi says China is willing to work with the United States to ensure bilateral ties stay on the right track.
President Xi also hailed achievements in areas including combating climate change, pushing for a bilateral investment treaty, and establishing a mutual trust mechanism between the two militaries. Xi says he appreciates the support provided by the US for the G20. He urged the two sides to stick to the principles of mutual respect and manage differences in a constructive manner.
Obama said he looks forward to an extensive discussion on shared interests in advancing regional and global security. He also said the US welcomes China’s contributions to global development, peacekeeping and refugee assistance.
