Neymar and Brazil booed off after frustrating draw against Iraq leaves them on brink of elimination
Olympic Games host nation Brazil is still looking for its first win in the football competition even with Barcelona’s star forward Neymar in its ranks.
The Brazilians were held to a second consecutive goalless draw by Iraq, putting them at risk of early elimination from the games.
Their first game was against African side South Africa which also ended 0-0, even with the South Africans having to play most of the game with 10 men.
Following the result, Neymar and co were booed by their own fans who had filled the stadium hoping to witness their country’s first win of the tournament.
The Brazilians recorded 20 shots on goal, but only managed to get six on target as the Asian side held on to give them a chance of progression into the next round.
Should Brazil lose to Denmark in their last group game and either Iraq or South Africa wins their game, Neymar will lead his side out of the tournament.
Denmark top the group with four points after edging South Africa to a 1-0 win.
Iraq has two points from two games while South Africa trails with just one point.
