Koffi Olomide’s woes continue as he is arrested in Kinshasa
Congolese rhumba maestro Koffi Olomide has been arrested in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa, the BBC reports.
The reason for his arrest is still unclear, but it comes after the 60-year-old musician was arrested and deported from Kenya on Saturday for assaulting one of his dancers in the country’s main airport.
Koffi was on Friday caught on camera kicking one of his dancers right in front of police officers, though he later denied assaulting her.
The country’s social media users expressed their displeasure at the incident, prompting the police to arrest and deport him back to DR Congo.
Following the incident, Zambian organizers also cancelled the musicians planned events in the country.
