The Angolan diplomat told journalists at the end of the meeting, reiterating the strengthening of bilateral relations with the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. The two interlocutors reviewed the political situation prevailing in that country and discussed on international interest issues in general and, in particular, related to the African continent.

In another meeting with the US under Secretary for African Affairs Linda Thomas, the Minister said that they addressed issues related to the situation in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

However, on the situation in South Sudan he said it is an international concern the return of hostilities, a fact that will lead the Security Council to apply sanctions and having to reinforce the contingent of a neutral force to be able to guarantee security to President Salva Kir.

The Foreign Minister is representing the head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, at the 27th African Union Summit.
