Assistant Secretary of the Arab League, Ahmed Benhali said Friday that the fight against terrorism tops the agenda of the 27th Arab League summit scheduled on 26- 27 July in Nouakchott (Mauritania).
“The issue of terrorism and its impacts on the Arab national security will be at the centre of Nouakchott summit works,” said the Arab official in an interview with Mauritanian radio, adding that different approaches to countering terrorism will be discussed.
He announced that a delegation of the Arab League will travel on 14 July to Nouakchott to inquire about the preparations for this important meeting, which are in their final phase.
For Benhali, the holding in Nouakchott of the Arab summit will mark a breakthrough for the Mauritanian diplomacy on the Arab-African and international levels.
