South Africa’s tax season opens
South Africa’s tax filing season opens on the first of July.
There’s a big push by the country’s revenue service to educate and encourage citizens to pay their taxes. Some of the challenges the country is facing are high unemployment and subdued economic growth prospects.
TAX season for individuals begins on 1 July, ending 25 November, and all relevant taxpayers are encouraged to get the correct documentation in order to avoid penalties.
Both of these factors are likely to affect the country’s coffers, as Angelo Coppola reports.
