300,000 African youths to get an opportunity to be trained

Swiss company Nestle is rolling out a on-the-job training for 300,000 African youths across the continent in a bid to deal with the high unemployment rate reports AFP.
70 percent of the 1.2 billion people in Africa are under the age of 30, of which a majority are suffering from severe economic and social challenges due to lack of employment.
“We’re going to create more than 3,000 internships and apprenticeships in African countries by the end of 2018… During the same period, we will offer qualified work experience to more than 300,000 youths.” said chief executive officer Paul Bulcke during an economic conference in Ivory Coast’s capital.
The training will provide an opportunity for the beneficiaries to get advice on career schemes, interview techniques and help with their curriculum vitae (CV).
Youth can keep checking Nestle’s website, attend their job fairs or be among those that will receive a team from the company in their schools or universities.
Nestle a major consumer of Cote d’Ivoire’s cocoa believes that the private sector is key to a powerful economic growth for African communities, especially by sharing the responsibility with the government.
