Kenyan police have beefed up security across the country in anticipation of the opposition coalition’s protests tomorrow.

The Coalition of Reforms and Democracy vowed to resume their weekly protests, demanding that the East African nation’s electoral commission be disbanded ahead of next year’s general elections.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday met with leaders from the opposition for talks, but no deal was reached.

The president later said his government would not negotiate with the opposition on the dismissal of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners, but rather, they should follow the guidelines provided by the constitution.

The opposition accuse the electoral commission of being partisan and lacking the support of other parts of the country.
