Nigeria’s teenage football sensation awarded bumper contact after impressive spell with Arsenal

Nigeria’s young football sensation Alex Iwobi has agreed a new bumper long-term Arsenal deal that will keep him at the club until 2012.

The London club has handed the exciting teenage midfielder a five-year contract that will see his wages tripled.

Iwobi accepted the new terms that will see him pocket £30,000 a week, up from £10,000.

He has lately been a constant starter in Arsenal’s line-up, taking full advantage of Aaron Ramsey’s injury.

The teenager, who is also nephew to football legend Jay Jay Okocha, has not failed to impress in the games he has featured in.

He scored his first senior goal against Everton in the English league, adding a second against Watford after putting up a very impressive show that has elicited lots of praise from his coach Arsene Wenger.

His rise has also seen him earn a call up to the Nigerian football team, coming on as a substitute in both legs of the Super Eagle’s clash with Egypt.
