Nigerian caught using postal services to import cocaine into India
A Nigerian man has been arrested in India with 600gms of Cocaine imported from Latin America using the postal services.
Frank William was arrested by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) working together with Ant-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai police with the Cocaine worth 720,000 dollars concealed in a vehicle axle that was sent via the post from Latin America.
William is believed to belong to an international drug racket that is using postal services to smuggle drugs and contrabands.
“We could have stopped the parcel at the Foreign Post Office as all post parcels are routed through it. We played along so we could reach the recipient,” said an official, adding that the demand for cocaine is increasing in Mumbai
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted a letter with 480 grammes of heroin sent from Bengaluru, India addressed to Mr. Yunusa Amusan, 33, in Mushin, Lagos.
“It was confirmed that Mr. Yunusa Amusan was recruited by his uncle who lives in India to take delivery of heroin concealed in letters to avoid arrest by law enforcement agents. The suspect was arrested after collecting the letter and further investigation is on-going.” Said Mabo Olugbenga, Director of Operations and General Investigation of the NDLEA reports The Guardian
